Welcome to Sialoglycoscience 2006, Fifth International Conference, Mishima, Japan

Dear Colleagues:
We call this conference the“Sialoglycoscience 2006, Fifth International Conference, Mishima, Japan,”following on the past three Pan-Pacific conferences in Melbourne (1996), Taipei (1998), the Gold Coast (2002), and the recent conference on sialobiology in St. Andrews, Scotland (2004).
The conference brings together a broad participants of researchers of fundamental and applied field of sialoglycosciences. We would like to welcome all scientists interested in sialoglycosciences. We have designed next 5 major scientific fields of the topics in the meeting as follows:
　Chemical and Physical Approach
　Structural Biology
　Glycobiology
　Glycopathology
　Medicinal and Industrial applications
We have assembled an excellent list of international speakers covering the breadth of Sialoglycosciences.
Sialoglycoscience 2006 will be held August 27-30, 2006, at“Torey Human Resources Development Center”located in Mishima, a city of a root of Mt. Fuji, Japan. This has been timed to follow the 26th annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Carbohydrate Research (23-25th August 2006 in Sendai, Japan).
