Guide to the Kichitaro Kawaguchi Travel Fund (Kawaguchi Fund)

The FCCA Executive Board proposed to establish the Kichitaro Kawaguchi Memorial Fund in TIGG No.65 to honor the late Dr. Kichitaro Kawaguchi for his great contribution to the founding and the success of FCCA/TIGG. The proposal was approved at the end of August 2000. Therefore, the support for travel expenses has started. This fund aims to provide travel expenses to encourage young and promising glycoscientists and glycobiologists to actively participate and present their research results.

[Criterion]
The recipient, being an FCCA member, must be under 39 years old or a student.

[Awards]
The recipient shall receive a part of the round-trip tarvel expenses in principle. The total amount of budget in a year is 100,000 yen.

[How to apply]
Please send the application form by mail or FAX. The application form can be obtained from the FCCA web site.(PDF or Word file)

[Selection]
All nominations will be judged by the FCCA Secretarial Board, and the results will be announced to each applicant. Priority will be given to the assistance for travel expenses for the participants in "FCCA seminar/Forum and Annual Meeting for Young Glycoscientists" and seminars sponsored by FCCA.

[Deadline]
By the end of odd numbered months (6 times per year). However, it is preferable to apply when submitting a paper.
